Btw, the idea about buying skirts larger so they fall lower is not the best idea all the time because then you can see the person's back when they bend over, unless they are wearing a very long top or a tucked in top. Not so convenient in the summertime. Best to have skirts sit at the right spot on the waist!

what about the model shouldn't we mind ... that she is skinny / tall / or maybe it's the shirt opened that might be a turn on ...
either way ... I would not be spending $69.99 on anything - let alone a denim skirt - that not so long ago could be found for $15 at a.j.wright [till they closed down]

Lol, no I meant disregard how the length of skirt fits her because they don't actually fall above the knees.

how about this one on a voluptuous model as myself ... can I pull it off or is the front - extra little top a bit too much & more importantly - will it make me zexy ... [wonder what 1826 stands for ... the year ... the waist size - or how youthful we will look romping around town]
gotta admit the price is looking good $16.99 is more my style

Op here. They had the "frayed hem denim skirt" in a size 14 in the Dress barn on Kings Highway. Even if you don't like that particular style, I would assume (hope) that the sizes run consistently from one style to another, being that it's made by the same manufacturer. They also had the"classic denim skirt." Why not call up the store and ask what sizes they have in stock and see if it's worth your time and effort to go there? You don't have to actually like the styles in the store.... As you said, you're just trying to determine your size.

Great site. The skirts are really beautiful, BUT.....how does one buy a skirt from a website without trying it on? I can be one size in one brand skirt and another size in another skirt. What a shame.

Measure your waist, hips, and length to where you want it to hit.
Look around the website for size explanations.
If that isn't enough, contact email their customer service with your measurements and ask what size you should buy.
If you buy things in "tall" they come longer.
You can return stuff, at the beginning. Once you hit on a style and size that works, get a few and you are set for repeat purchases. You know what you are getting.
Cotton shrinks, remember.

I appreciate your advice. Just one note: I avoid the shrinkage problem by having my denim skirts dry cleaned. It's relatively costly, but it's worth it to me bc there's no shrinkage, the skirts always look new and there's minimal fading.
