What exactly do you want us to say?

First, I don't know why this is in Judaism.
Two, Kol Dodi Dofek is a quote from Shir HaShirim that I never would have associated with RL two young people dying.
Three, I thought you were trying to make a shidduch between a 16 and 23 year old. I really didn't know what you were talking about.

Even now that I've read it I don't really know what you want anyone to say.

You haven't read the much publicized poem by that title about the rapid onslaught of continuous heinous tragedies facing us recetly. Otherwise it probably would have clicked.

The "Kol Dodi Dofek" poem about the many sudden deaths in our community, was
1-posted on Yeshiva World,
2-printed in the Yated and I think the Hamodia as well , and
3-posted on THIS website in the very recent past.
4- and was very much talked about as a result of appearing on many forums.

Even if every member of this forum subscribed to every one of the above, which is not the case, it still would not guarantee that everyone would have seen the poem. Do you read every post on every thread on every forum? Do you read every article on every page, cover to cover, of every paper to which you subscribe?

Considering it was recently Pesach during which we read Shir Hashirim, from which "kol Dodi dofek" is a quote, and considering that your title said nothing about BDE or death or anything of a tragic nature, merely mentioned two young people, no gender, just age and location, it is not at all surprising that people would conclude you were talking shidduchim.

People, please think carefully about wording your thread titles and don't go off half-cocked.

Me too, Crayon.

Maybe you should do a poll about who saw it. I didn't, and truthfully, a poem about people dying doesn't interest me much.

do people read every single thread on here? I skip over the ones that don't interest me, and many of the ones that do I wait to read until the discussion is over.

I did read the poem (well, some of it) and still didn't get the reference.
Furthermore, I don't see the point in announcing tragedies. What good does it do?

I only clicked on this thread b/c I thought it was some type of shidduch story.

Learn how to properly title a thread.

Kol Dodi Dofek
Hashem is POUNDING at our door
Don’t we see what’s happening?
Do we know what might be in store?

The poem explains the connection.

82 Responded to “A poem about the recent tragedies” in Yeshiva Word alone. Others responded positively to all the other newspapers it was in. Not one negative comment.

This was the first of 82 all positive responses there to that inspiring poem:

Well put it hits all the notes,
and it really stirs the soul
anyone who reads this,
can’t leave with their heart - whole.

Wink Perhaps we ought to call this website Imacritic.

I would not use the imagery of a lover knocking at the door in connection with tragedies!

Don't we say Baruch Dayan Emes?

Hashem does everything for the good.

If that is so, and hopefully we believe it, why be offended with the connection of love and death? As hurt as we are, are we doubtful of the results and long term effects of Hashem's actions?
