Iso of barbecue sauce recipe

I am looking for an easy barbecue sauce recipe. I tried a recipe in the cookbook Kids Cooking Made Easy, but the consistency was too liquidy.
does anyone have a recipe for barbecue sauce with ingredients in the house? like ketchup, sugar, honey, etc?

Ketchup
Brown sugar
Sautéed onions
Small amount of coffee (not liquid).

My mother's standard one was really easy and delicious: 2 parts ketchup to 1 part honey and seasoned with garlic. Not much of a recipe, but tastes great if you want a sweet sauce.

1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup red wine
1/2 cup brown sugar
garlic
pepper
ginger

bake this in a single layer for several hour - it needs too caramelize & become sticky

get some beer - wet paper towels & make enough for everyone Tongue Out
