When should I get contacted for an interview?

Send a followup email on Monday asking if they received your resume. Make it brief and say that you're checking because you're so interested in the job and believe your qualifications fit their needs.

I don't know if the place matters, but from what I know, typically, if they are interested in you, they will ask you for an interview within a week or so, if aboutyou have not heard anything, you can send a follow up note, something like:

Dear Prospective Employer,

I am writing to follow up on my application for the Part-Time event Assistant position that I applied to on January 20, 2015. I believe I would be a great candidate for this position, as I have the experience, skills, and creative background to do this job in an efficient and timely manner.

Please let me know if you did not receive my resume, I would be glad to resend it. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me, by phone at 000.000.0000 or email at xxxxxxx@gmail.com.

that is a real follow up email I sent. (nine days later) to which they never answered back btw, so if you still don't receive a reply to a follow up, I'd suggest letting it go
