Hi writers,
Does anyone have a good way of explaining segulos to a non Jewish audience? (That won't sound weird)
(in a sentence or two)

A specific religious, spiritual, or symbolic act undertaken to bring about salvation.
Then if you want to be more honest: While some may appear bizarre, many are based on religious texts or have their roots in traditions.
And even more accurate: A percentage of these practices is believed by many to be based on superstition.
