Quite a few. In one case, lots of cousins and uncles.

All except for one shares a name with one of my nieces and nephews. It's basically a given when you name after family members.
If I was choosing a random name I'd try to stay away from siblings and nieces/nephews names.

In our not so large family of 6, we have three married siblings. Each of our children, which total 7 except one has someone else in the family with the same name.

Yes, very common in our family,
Quite annoying when a few family members have the same first AND last name. Doubly annoying when they go to the same school . Lots of confusion...

I was basically pushed into giving my first two kids names after my in-laws side. The funny thing is there are so many of them now.

I grew a backbone since then.

Were I come from, it is customary to name kids after deceased grandparents. So yes, my kids and a couple of their cousins have the same name.

I don't (yet) for various reasons (one family name is my MIL's name, the most common renamed name on IL's side is my father's name, can't stand one of the names and it's been named several times over etc.), but it's common in my family.

I don't yet have any nieces or nephews from either side, but when I do, I hope that they will carry some variation of some of my kids names.

We name after living grandparents. My child has a variation of the same name but not the exact name. I have no problem with kids having the same name, just the other kids have variations of the original name that aren't my taste.

Yes the exact same first and last name. Even nickname is the same.

I grew up with the same name as a first cousin as well. We both got married and no longer have to be referred to as big____ and little_____. Now we have different last names.

Dh had a warm relationship with his granfather. The grandfather was niftar before dh's youngest brother was born. So dh has a brother and a son with the same first and last name.

Well, here in my chassidishe family there ISN'T a cousin or niece or nephew that DOESN'T share a name! There is no such thing as a different or uncommon name, everyone shares names with everyone else!

With the chassidishe families growing explosively, it isn't uncommon to have 20 Zlaty's, 30 Shulem Nachmans and such.

A badchan once said that a yingele complained to the rebbe that Gedalia Appel hit him. The rebbe replied, "me too!". The great grandfather of this little boy, was Gedalia Appel and he had hit him once....

We named our son after my husband's father who had passed away and he shares the same name with my nephew (my sister's ds). She was really upset with me that I named my child the same as her son is called. Was very uncomfortable but I think she's gotten over it
