Green leafy vegetables. The darker green it is, the more iron.

Broccoli, spinach, kale, beet leaves, romaine lettuce leaves (I think...), etc.

almonds and raisins ... I eat them for a quick pick-me-up snack when starving - the plus iron and protein ...

what about salmon - or is that just the healthy oils ...

beans are also very rich in iron - if you dont like beans cook them and drink the liquid.

Molasses!! It's a great source of iron (1 tbsp. has 18% of RDA). I eat it by the spoonful (sweet but slightly bitter - yum) and invite my slightly anemic kids to do the same...

You can also use it as an ingredient in cookies, muffins, etc.

Molasses is also a very good source of calcium (5% of RDA in 1 tbsp.).

For anyone watching carbs, be aware that 1 tbsp. of molasses has 16 grams of carb (as sugar).

Enjoy!
