Besides looking at newspaper ads and calling agents are there other ways to get the scoop on houses for sale in Lakewood?

Thanks.

Do any of the real estate websites have the option of fine-tuning and searching for a specific neighborhood within Lakewood? There are so many neighborhoods.

If you're interested in a specific neighborhood, you could hang up a sign in the shuls there saying that you want to buy in the area and giving your contact info. You could also try to meet people in the area and ask them to ask around and keep their ears open and give you a heads up on any potential leads.

In some neighborhoods you need to find off market deals or you will pay a lot

I actually know of a bunch, where are you looking?

What's an off market deal? Something that's not online?

Drive around the neighborhoods you want to live in. Sometimes people put their house for sale but don't go through an agent, so you might find for sale properties that weren't in the paper.

off market means not listed no sign, either in high demand area or is a very good price someone who has to sell
