About how much did u spend when making an upsherin party? Iyh making my first just trying to feel things out....

I spent about $500 total. Food plus decor was about 350, I spent 120 on a photographer (mainly for before and after pics), and 30 for someone to come to the party and give a proper haircut after everyone was done snipping.

200$ Clothes (outfit, tzitzis and kippahs)
100$ Tip for the cheder rebbi.

$200. we served cake, coffee cookies etc on a Sunday afternoon. DH did the real haircut at home after. Our friends have mostly done the same.

0. We don't believe in upsherin and cut the hair whenever we decide.
Ok, we did have a small birthday party but not more than usual..
