Im going to Israel in a month staying there for a week and need some help planning trips.

We dont have kids yet.

We will rent a car and will be based in Jerusalem, although 1 night will be in Tel Aviv area.

Id like to do 2 days of fun outdoors activities.

Im thinking of Hike in Ein Gedi and swim in dead sea but not sure about the weather.

Is Mitspe ramon worth the price? Rappelling is about $200.

Any other outdoor activity?

I'm not sure exactly where this is but its so nice and a lot of fun. You can go on a Segway tour it's some where in Jerusalem. You go up a mountain. The views are beautiful and Segways are a lot of fun. If you like history Masada and the archeological gardens near the kosel are fascinating.

Be aware that February is a rainy month, so make sure your plans are flexible while you are here.

Beit Guvrin is pretty close to Yerushalayim, although the trail is not exactly strenuous. Mitzpe Ramon is nice; just beware of flash flooding if the weather is rainy. There are lots of challenging trails in the Negev, but if you are only going to be away for 2 days, it might not be worth the schlepp. Ein Gedi is beautiful.

The most important thing is safety! It helps that you're renting a car and not taking buses and light rails, but follow the news for the next month and better safe than sorry - I wouldn't go to Chevron or the West Bank now, and even in the Old City you must be very, very cautious. If in Tel Aviv, you could go up the coast to Rosh Hanikra. I love Tzfas and the surrounding area (Tiveria, Golan) and would definitely go there before heading south to Mitzpe Ramon, but much will be weather dependent.

We are thinking of going to the Golan but not sure what to do there.

We are not into wine so wine tours are out.

Golan - look into Nimrod's Fortress, chocolate factory tour, Har Bental, Katsrin olive oil factory tour, hiking in Banias weather permitting, or skiing on Hermon
