I am looking for a top for a beautiful Banana Republic blue skirt I bought about a year ago. Here are my requirements for a top:

- Nice enough to make the outfit suitable for a wedding
- Suitable for more or less all seasons
- Classic, not trendy- I'd like to be able to wear this for many years
- I'd prefer not black...but I'm ok with it if it'll go best

Black makes the most sense to wear it to weddings and have it outlast trends.

For weddings silver would work.
A black grey or navy sweater
Button down or wrap satin black, silver or navy shirt.

Anything in silvery or grey, like a metallic cardigan (but not too shiny because the skirt is)
Maybe a dressy top in an ivory or similar color?

I would wear a tucked in chiffon bow blouse. they sell the bow blouses in most jewish stores. I did see it in brooklyn at fashion island

I like all the middle ones.
The top one doesn't look dressy enough for weddings, the bottom one has a black sash that would clash with the blue skirt. The others are beautiful.

I can probably get a blue ribbon to replace the black sash- would it be good then?

Would a patterned top work? Something like this Junee top? Or does a pattern automatically make it less dressy?

(And is that top trendy? I don't think I would want a cropped top anyway...)
