I am IYH taking a group of high school girls on a full day trip from the NY/NJ area.
I'd like ideas of an area that is within a 2-3 hour driving distance, has indoor and outdoor fun. (gardens, amusement park, museam, indoor fun stuff etc)
Any ideas?

Bronx Zoo
Museum of Natural History/Hayden Planetarium
Brooklyn (or Bronx) Botanical Garden
NY Aquarium
Central Park
Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island/South Street Seaport
Ice Skating/Roller Skating at Chelsea Piers
(If it's the right type of crowd) - Broadway show & The Hershey store.
That's just off the top of my head.

Visit the Amish in Lancaster, PA. Do a tour of the Amish village, horse & buggy rides, beautiful farms and countryside, outlet shopping and the totally AWESOME miniature golf they have in the area.
I just love it there : )
