there is plenty to do there. but I dont think it feasible without a car. with young kids there is water park, gandola, light hikes, mountain coasters, lots more.

There is an Amtrak train to Rutland. It's a long ride, but you can look in to it.

Even if you could get there by bus, your mobility will be limited to the ground of the program, as none of the other activities are in walking distance, unless perhaps you can arrange rides with somebody else there. You could contact the director of the program to see if they have any suggestions in this direction, but the odds aren't good, and having your own car will make it a MUCH more pleasant experience.

If taking young babies (or anyone) bring warmer clothing. I remember one of my sister in laws went on a hike and their baby was frozen at the top and they had to hurry down. Dress appropriately, especially babies.
