So what do you think of this? I'm personally very happy that McCain came out against him. I voted for McCain in 08, and personally, I think the Republican party needs to take itself back.

https://www.washingtonpost.com......html

Yeah, Trump got the most votes to be nominated at the RNC but it certainly wasn't a majority. And may I ask, what the hell makes Trump a Republican? I mean, aside from his supposed values he suddenly developed in the last year, how has he demonstrated Republican values?

He dodged the draft and then lied about it, then mocked McCain for being a hero and a POW. In fact, McCain could have been released earlier but he refused until all his men were released. George Bush senior was in the air force. Who the hell is Trump?

Sometimes I wonder if he's not secretly working for Hillary, to ensure that she wins, given that he says the most outrageous things that are just contrary to all values. Do I really want my children growing up with a President who mocks disabled people?
I've also heard that he gets a lot of his investments from Russia since the US won't loan him anything since he's too risky. That's why he's suddenly willing to put NATO on the line, and support Putin's invasion of Crimea. Of course we don't know, bc he won't release his tax returns....

I hate Hillary. I think she is a liar and a politician. But I think Bloomberg was right: she is the right choice in this particular election. Although to be fair, at this point I'd vote for a guinea pig if it had the strongest chance of beating Trump.

Totally agree with every word. But nothing seems to put a dent in trump's support. The more bizarre he gets, the more his supporters defend him. He said he could shoot someone in Times Square and not lose support and he's absolutely right!! Trump supporters, please explain your thinking because I can't figure it out.

I mean the more I think about it... He outsources his jobs, he hires tons of immigrants when hundreds of US applicants were interviewed, what makes him a Republican?

Nothing except for the fact that he thought Republicans would be more likely to vote for him than Democrats. An opportunist all the way.

I've voted Republican (Libertarian, actually) for a long time, but after McCain went all "MAVERICK!" on us, he actually pushed me to vote for Obama the first time around. I have to confess, I fell for Obama's JFKesque charm. I still don't know if McCain would have been a better choice.

I'm so disillusioned with the whole presidential situation. Hillary is a lying snake, and Trump is a loose cannon. I knew Hillary would win the Dem nomination, but if you'd asked me to bet money on the Republican nomination, I would totally never have guessed that Trump would make it this far. How he got here is a mystery to me. Sure, he puts on a great show, and you have to admit that it's an entertaining train wreck, but seriously, is that the best we can come up with?

I think I'm going to write in a vote for Carson, just for spite. Or maybe Mickey Mouse. I'm not sure. Confused

For the first time since I started voting I'm not voting for the Republican nominee in a national election.(I'm not voting for Hillary either)

I sometimes get the feeling that Trump doesn't even want to win.A year and a half of publicity and spotlight is enough for him.

Or alternatively he really can't act with decency even when he wants to. When he used to say during the primaries that once he clinches the nomination he will starting acting presidential he really meant it.But being obnoxious is so ingrained in him that he simply can't act differently.

Trump does not need to secretly work for Hillary, lol. It is enough to listen to people saying with self-righteous indignation (that makes me want to puke): "oh, well. she is a power-hungry liar, who needed others to "talk her up" , because, apparently, 30+ years of public service did not produce accomplishments that spoke for themselves and she even had her party's primaries rigged, yadda yadda, . I /we hate her....BUT..... but she is the right choice". Get it straight: either she is a liar and you are ok with it, or she is not that bad for you, and you will vote for her. Every people/nation gets the leaders/government it deserves!
On the side note, talking about party getting itself back? Look at Democrats! Socialist, liberal, borderline-communist trash that it has become! Did you hear Hillary's speech? "Free college!!!Woo hoo! How am I going to pay for 1,2,3 of my plan : increasing taxes on 1%!!!Woo hoo! Women's reproductive rights with abortion on demand!! Woo hoo!I will make sure bad guys do not get access to guns and shoot you!!Woo Hoo!!" - classic re-distribution of wealth! (just in case, you do not get my sarcasm, I am paraphrasing)
Basically, we are a land of great opportunities until you hit about $250K annual income. Then we will tax the living hell out of you, because, hey, pal, we promised so much. You gotta help us pay for all our entitlements program and free college for every kid! Hey, we gave you a chance at getting this far, didn't we? So, shut up and pay up!!! Mediocrity galore: you suck, you suck, you suck - here, sweetie, is your participation trophy! Any reason/drive/desire to excel in anything will be shut down, and that is the future your grandkids will have to deal with!

I notice you didn't answer my question. Please explain to me how Trump had demonstrated any Republican values.

Trump thinks a lot of people should be quiet. That's why he referenced that in his day, they would take people (like protestors) out on stretchers. He said the father of a war hero had "no right" to give his personal opinion on a political candidate for president.
Again, not like the Republican party that I know, that proudly stands to uphold basic constitutional rights, especially that of free speech.
How has Trump demonstrated Republican values?

Much as I hate Trump, in fairness, the question Mr Khan asked "What did he sacrifice for his country"? that I'm constantly hearing about on the radio is an unfair question if it isn't also being asked of Hillary.

Had the Republicans brought the parents of victims of San Beridino shootings or of Abu Nidal to support Trump and his views on Muslims those people would have been derided in the media too.

Trump is very good at manipulation and selling to people. He says the things that people want to hear, and that's why he's the Republican nominee.

What I can't believe is that anyone believes he's a devout xtian whose favorite book is the Bible. I try not to say things like this, but how stupid can people get? Do his supporters even believe that, or is saying such things just the price of admission to US politics?

I'm really not a Hillary fan, but I'm voting for her. Trump is whipping up dangerous ideas that could lead to devasting, fascist action.
