I've had treatment for cancer for more than 11 years. Never heard of not using cell phones.
I've had surgery, chemo and radiation and was never told not to use cell phone, even when I had metastaties to the brain.

Could this be a misinterpretation of what someone said?
For example "I can't use my cell phone - I'm getting radiation. " This could mean that she has no reception since radiation facilities are always in the basement.
If you're familiar with Brooklyn chasuna halls, you know what I mean. If not, you'll get it with a little imagination
