Would mocha icing work on honey cake? The cake has coffee in it, so there is already some coffee flavor. Any other suggestions? I think the cake tastes good, but a bit dry and I think some sort of icing would help spice it up.

Too sweet! If it needs an icing, go with a plain glaze. The coffee in honey cake doesn't "appear" in the flavour (as far as I can tell), and I think coffee icing would overpower the cake.

I would do a lemon glaze with grated lemon rind....Yum!!
(I think someone posted a link to honey cake recipe that was paired with a lemon glaze-check the honey cake thread. )

I like the plain, gooey top of honeycake (I.e. no icing)
