Hi,
I am looking at moving to Monsey with my husband and son from overseas. My son is 1.5 so we will be looking for a Kinder/School to enrol him in as I know it can be quite competitive.
We are loooking for a great school with quality Kodesh and Chol education. We are looking for a school that does not push a Kollel lifestyle, as both of us work in professional careers and would like our kids to do the same. We are orthodox and my husband wears a black hat and minyan 3 times a day etc. but we also have smartphones and would allow our kid to watch movies ect.
We are looking for a school that emphasises both areas of education and will provide a strong environment for our kids. Currently looking a Darchei Noam - thoughts?

Darchei noam is amazing. Sounds like the perfect school for you. They have a mix of parents, some started out/are in kolel, others arent, but are black hat. They dont push the kolel lifestyle but they do push overall importance of torah learning, ahavas Hashem, middos, bein adam lechaveiro etc.
The Rebbeim are phenomenal.
They have a very warm and chilled out approach. Not into rules that dont make sense. Very solid hashkafa.
Amazing amazing school-just keep in mind they have very very limited space, one class per grade and sometimes only have a few slots per class after the others are taken from being siblings/ kids of alumni from ohr reuven beis medrash, which is pretty much their school.
So if you dont get in its nothing personal...
Hatzlacha in your choice!
