Talk to me about Staten Island.
Is it really a growing community? How much are yeshivas? Are the people nice?
Can you get around by walking? If you don't have car do you feel isolated?

It's a growing chassidish community. Real estate has sky rocketed so it's no longer a cheap affordable community.

There is only one "yeshiva" elemtary school Tuition is about 9k

most people have 2 cars and drive. Now that the chassidim have moved in there are more options for getting transportation to Brooklyn etc. but most people need cars for days when there is no bus transportation to school or if your kids are pre bus age etc

There are a few yeshiva. Jfs mod orthodox,coed, 10k. Rjj,yeshivish, 8k. These are through 8th grade. There is a chafetz chaim boys he. It's a very warm,friendly and inclusive community. There are 3 parks in Willowbrook, 2 right next to shul and one further ( Google Willowbrook park carousel and lake). Staten island has many beautiful parks. We go hiking and boating in clove lakes,which is a 10 min drive. Pm me if u need more details

Where do people shop for "Jewish" food? I know they have s Cosco but any local grocery store I can run to if I need 1 or 2 things?

Yes there is a small grocery in willowbrook that carries "Jewish" " heimishe food

They are currently expanding and hope to carry takeout in the near future but carry most food that you woukd need

Is there a way to get to Manhattan by bus or train ? Ferry is not an option due to vestibular issues.
