I know someone who's 20 years old who has been having trouble finding comfortable shoes that are fashionable for everyday. She has a problem with the way she walks and is in a lot of pain. When she walks her right foot turns outwards to the side & causes her pain in the arch of her foot. If anyone has any ideas of what she can do to cause her to be in less pain or ideas of comfortable shoes that are fashionable please share. She's desperate. Thank you

A good orthotic might help.

I second the suggestion for orthotics.
There are many manufacturers of comfortable shoes. For starters, I suggest she look at Clarks, Ecco, Naot, Mephisto, Rockport, etc. Go to a store and try things on. Be picky.
Although she is clearly interested in being fashionable, she should pick the most comfortable shoe she can get away with.

Sas makes some very comfortable women's shoes. They are pretty okay for every day.
There is a store in Lakewood that sells these shoes and orthotic shoes. They even take insurance, when you qualify.
