For those of you who get earrings for your daughters at what age do you do it?
I want my daughter to have earrings but I also do not want her to be old enough to remember the pain or play with them.

My 1st at a week old my second at 9wks. I like doing it when their babys so they dont remember and dont even realize something is there. My second I did little later cuz she was a preemie and tiny. But anytime before they are a few months old is good. Thats just my opinion.

I did it at 2 weeks old. She cried for a minute and that was it. She wasn't old enough to play with it or remember any pain etc.. My next one I only ended up doing at 3 1/2 when she asked for it. She was mature enough to understand that she couldn't play around with it and while it hurt for a minute that was it. She was happy to have earrings.. (She got it as a reward for being toilet trained.. )

I had at 10, 12 and 16. I took care of them and cleaned them daily, but with an allergy to most metals, it didn't help much.
I don't know if my daughters have the same allergy, so I won't take the chances. They will get when they stop sucking their thunbs. (Right now aged 9 and 7).
The pain only lasts half a minute. Even at 16.

Just got for my girls yeaterday ten and seven.
It hurt for a second and thats it.
My ten year old had earings before - at six as a reword for stoping the pacifier but it got a reallly bad infection and she endded up with a small scar on her earlobe.
I hope all goes well now.

I had mine done when I was 12yo, after many months of begging.
My first thought was "WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THIS WHEN I WAS A BABY!!!!"
