Take her to the doctor, bronchitis is going around in my area at least. Otherwise besides the antibiotic if she needs, I just do saline drops and humidifier and Vick’s vaporub.

Cut up an onion in quarters and put it by her bed at night.
I don't believe any cough medicines are approved for that age.

I just give infant tylonol if it's a bad cough and he's really not feeling well-especially at night when the symptoms gets worse it helps him feel better. humidifiers have never really made much of a difference when we've used them.

Doctor first to rule out something more serious.
Then warm olive oil chest treatment and Tylenol as needed.

Is there any runny nose? I'd suggest Benadryl to dry up the mucus while the child is trying to sleep.

I wouldn't run to the doctor for an ordinary cough unless there's some special reason to suspect it's something more, or if it's been going on for a few days with no improvement.
I get the bathroom steamy with a hot shower and then sit there with the child. Don't leave the child alone in the steamy bathroom, not safe.
I also rub diluted essential oils on their chest and feet. It works like Vicks but made naturally and the oil blend I use has more than just the eucalyptol that I think is the only thing in Vicks. My DD was also coughing really intensely tonight but it calmed down dramatically after I applied some oils to her chest.

Put some olive oil in a tiny 1 quart pot. Add a few drops of fresh lemon. Bring to a bubble and then turn off heat.
Pour into a (not plastic) bowl and cool just enough for you to be able to handle it (it should still be very very warm). Rub it into your child's chest, back, neck, temples. Baby should enjoy the massage. Wrap up your baby well (clothes/PJ's) immediately.
Repeat a few times a day until baby is better.

You MUST know the child's weight before giving any dosage of dimetapp, it could be dangerous otherwise.
A cool mist humidifier works quite well.
My doctor always says to give a spoonful of honey twice a day (morning and before bed) - it coats the throat. I have no idea if it helps, but my dd always said she felt a little better after.
