Can I wear these chestnut colored Uggs with black opaque tights and a black straight skirt or do I have to stick with the black Uggs?

Sure, why not?

They're just "higher maintenance" to keep clean than black boots, so get a good suede spray and brush.

I thought that everything had to be monochromatic, but I’m so tired of black with black.

Monochromatic is one style.
There are so many other looks out there.
Personally I hate all black and rarely ever wear it.

I hear you. OTOH, I can just picture me dropping food on top of my brand new chestnut-colored boots and having to deal with the stain. It’s difficult to get stains out of suede, even with suede protector. Do I sound confused? Lol

That's why I wear black uggs with a non-black outfit!

Definitely does not have to be all one color. I ordered cute heather grey boots and then my husband reminded me about the maintenance part... so I reordered them in black.

I also get most things in black due to the fact that I'm worried about stains, but color is much more fun and those would look great with black tights. (you can actually notice the cuteness of shoes when they're not black).
