Interesting recipe for hot dogs

I am tired of hotdog in the bun, is there an interesting, creative recipe you have to serve hot dogs???

take 2 hot dogs per person, slice them into 1/2 slices mix with baked beans and bring to a boil.

Then take 2 tbl corn starch and dilute with 2 tablesp of worchestershire and a little water.

now add 1/4 cup brown sugar to the simmering beans

When that disolves add the corn starch mixture and stir until thick

Now pour into a cassarole dish and bake 20 @ 350

roll up a cooked hot dog into a pastry dough square, slice and bake for a few minutes...franks in blanks!

I make homemade bagel dogs with challah dough-either homemade or from the bakery. They are so much better than the buns.

cut them up and boil them in tomato sauce, serve with pasts...my fam and dh and I LOVE it!

I sautee a bunch of onions and bell peppers, add hotdogs that have been cut into chunks, then after the dogs are cooked, add beans.

sounds like a fun recipe. one question though--

doesn't worchestershire sauce contain anchovies? or have you found a fish free brand? (I'd love to try it. this is theoretical, I've never tried worchestershire sauce, but I don't like anchovies, so if there's one without...)

There is a kosher brand either gefen or haddar that makes worchestershire sauce without fish. I guess, it is more of an imitation, but serves the purpose.

That's what I use... but play around with it because u do not need alot of it... it's just for flavoring

Pigs in Blankets (=wrap in pastry dough and bake)

Hot-diggidy-dogs (=slice and cook into tomato sauce, could be served over spagetti)

I always serve them with mashed potatoes. (I loooove mashed potatoes)

Another way, not very elegant (you can use salami too) - cut up and cook in a frying pan with boiled potatoes and eggs. the potaoes should be nice and crispy - I think add the eggs last.

One of my recipe books has a recipe with lentils (I think green lentils).

what about hot dogs and potatoes. (not mashed) I boil potatoes and then add the franks and spices.

I fry an onion, add cubed potatoes and spices. when they are almost soft, add sliced franks, and cook till the potatoes are done. YUM.

I do that, too. Sometimes I leave the franks whole and put it into a bun, and eat the potatoes as a side dish.
