Heading to LA for winter break

Please share ideas of things you’ve done in LA- besides Universal studios theme park- some lower cost ideas welcome too! We have a preteen who is not popular culture obsessed or knowledgeable with us on the trip.

Bike riding. We rode bikes by Venice beach and rode to Santa Monica pier. There is a small amusement park there. But even along the boardwalk there are parks and a cool trapeze thing that are fun to watch/try

Also the science center there is nice and is free

The la zoo is amazing. Lots of big animals and you get really good views

Annenberg space for photography, abalone cove, the broad museum, the Getty museum ( do a tour there), Los leones Hike, Vasquez rocks, watts tower

-warner bros studios tour. Much cheaper and fascinating
-museum of Tolerance (a lot of holocaust stuff if your kid can take that )
-drive along pacific coast highway, point dume hike
-venice beach and venice canals
-rafting in marina del rey if you wear water friendly clothes
