ok not sure where this goes but it has been bugging me for a while... my mum and mum in law keep saying that my dd is not allowed to look in the mirror till she has her first tooth. when I ask why they say thats what bubba/safta used to say.
I was just wondering if anyone knew the reason and where it comes from and if it really is true?
thanx.

I don't know, but my husband had also heard a baby shouldn't look in the mirror (I think maybe for other reasons, I can't remember) and he asked his rav and he said there's no problem.

Hmmmmm.....
Where does this come from???
I've always wondered, never knew the source, but even with the "Bubbe Maaseh" aspect of it, I've never let my little ones look in a mirror before the first tooth.
Anyone out there have any ideas?
