Do you think it’s ok for married siblings of opposite gender to hug each other? I am much older then my brother and he is more like a son to me then a brother but I was told that a brother and a sister are not allowed to hug according to Halacha whether I am single or married but especially when I am married.

When I meet one of my brothers and weve not seen for a while then yes we hug. Its not a long hug or anything just an expression of care for each other.

In the context described above, yes, we hug.

No I didn't hug my brothers at my wedding. This would be inappropriate in my circles.

In your circles would it be appropriate for a father to hug his adult daughter ?

He wouldnt do it publicy. Though father and brother are completely different halachically. My father would obviously kiss me. Not my brothers.
I'm regular yeshivish BTW. Nothing extreme. As far as I know, it says in kitzur shulchan aruch that it's wrong.

Someone posted this recently on here from the Rambam.
Reading sefarim isn't my strong point, though I will check further if you want.
ETA: Concerning hugging and kissing sisters see Rambam (Issurei Biah 21:6) and Shulchan Aruch (Even HaEzer 21:7); for the age of 11 see Shulchan Aruch 73:4. And Igros Moshe 144.

Pretty sure that it says in Rabbi Falk’s Sefer that adult siblings of opposite genders should refrain from hugging and kissing. Everything there is sourced.
(I know that not everyone holds of his Sefer - but I’m just putting this out there because there is such a concept and the poster didn’t take it from nowhere...)

Seems R' Moshe Feinstein paskens this way as well.
ETA: If others hold differently that's fine. I'm just quoting sources because you asked for it.

We didn’t for years after we both became frum, but when I saw him for his wedding I did hug him - I felt it was better to not be strict in this area and show him my love instead.

A passuk is a verse in Tanach. A line from a halacha sefer isn't a passuk.
