"Good morning" especially when said to me before I did drink my coffee. A cheerful smile makes it much worse.

My mother wasn't a morning person when she was a young girl and her parents were. When she would come in the kitchen in the morning her parents would tell her to say good morning, but she was too cranky to do so. One morning she came into the kitchen with a sign around her neck that said, good morning Smile .

Like.

As in,

So, like, I went to H&M, and I was like, why can't they have more cotton stuff. And like, the lady tells me, honey, it, like, shrinks, ya know, and I'm like, so what! Don't, like, dry them!

Like that.

And of course pedantic words. As in "I have a conglomerate of recipes.." or, "His mendacity gets me every time"

You're writing in a stupid magazine. It's okay to say "bunch of" and "dishonesty.."

You don't sound smarter, lady.. You're misusing a thesaurus.

Ooh. You opened a can of worms... (see? No Pandora's box.)

I hate "I'm being a clown on Purim. I'm being lazy this Seder and serving on... ".

I'm going to be! Going. To. Be.

I'm with foodie!

I HATE all those big multi-syllable words in publications trying to sound cool, when you can use simple clear language and just get your point across.

I need a 'small' favor.

Hey. Just say you need a favor. OK? I have no problem with that. If I choose to judge it by size, it's my decision what size it was.

(I need a small favor. Can you host a family this week? I'm out of town and..)

Just because you say it's small, that doesn't make it small...

Am I totally veering from the topic of the thread? I woke up in a horrible mood today. I had a dream that I didn't shop for yom Tov yet and I woke up and it was true. And then I knocked over my coffee and burned my foot. Not bad but enough to need to put it in cold water andstain what I was wearing... So this could just be me, on a Grrrrrrr day....

Sorry.
