I throw in:
Sauted onions
Flanken
Marech bone
Great northern beans
Barley
Ketchup
Mustard
Garlic powder
Paprika
Salt
Black pepper
Honey
Water to cover

I cook on high for a few hours then switch it to low

If you like potatoes you can add some in cubes too.
