I have a very chassidish friend who I would like to take on a one day vacation.
Needs to be in driving distance from Monsey.
She would love a place where she could just sit and relax.
Any suggestions?

Tia

Rockland lake doesn't have boating anymore.
If you want to drive about an hour and 15 minutes bushkill falls is beautiful.

It does sound like fun, but doesn't OP's friend want to sit and relax?

I would find a pretty spot on 7 Lakes Drive and have a picnic lunch. Or go down to the Hudson and do the same. Or am I being too literal with the sit and relax thing.

I actually read it and said "this is not relaxing" , so yes. Your choice is way more in the range of relaxation.
She can also go to Haverstraw Bay Park and sit on a bench near the water and watch the boats. I always enjoyed that. And there are picnic tables there too for a picnic lunch.

OP here

No you are correct she just wants to sit somewhere and just relax. But as I said she is very chassidish and from a very famous family so she has her reputation to protect so needs a "kosher" place to go.

The Hudson sounds good. Could you tell me how to get there?

I love sitting on the pier in Piermont. We hardly ever meet other Jewish people there.
You can also head to Croton Gorge Park, or Bear Mountain Park, or to the waterfalls at Kennedy Dells - requires a bit of pleasant hiking but it's a gorgeous spot to just sit.

It is hard to give directions if we don't know where you are. Try Waze or Mapquest.

Haverstraw Bay park sounds perfect. I think you should pick up lunch from Primavera and enjoy it there. It's on the Hudson and so beautiful and relaxing. It will be crowded on a Sunday though.
