I wish this could have been resolved earlier but it’s definitely the right thing to do by these girls and their families. Besides for the stigma and rejection they’re feeling, at least they don’t have to feel so alone in it.

Is it only Bais Kaila that cancelled school tomorrow for all grades (as opposed to just ninth grade)? Or other schools as well?

Definitely agree with this being totally necessary, we all need to stand by the girls who dont yet have a highschool. But when will the schools be in session? How long does this process take? After yomtov?!

What I don’t understand is why does it take so long to find a place for everyone? Why couldn’t it have been taken care of last week or better yet a few months ago? The powers that be knew schools were supposed to start this week. Anyone have any insight?

Very sad...but nice that there are sooo many girls that schools do not have the space.

No.... I know other high schools who cancelled all sessions for tomorrow/Monday as well.

OMG... which school closed last minute?
Ateres Bais Yaakov & Bais Yaakov Ohel Sarah, which were elementary schools, did not even have 7th or 8th grade yet. Are you referring to a high school?

I don’t know and he’s not around to ask. Sorry. All he said was the school closed for financial reasons.

Seems to me all schools pretty much close for financial reasons. 🙁

I asked him. He doesn’t know a name. He said he read it on one of the Jewish news sites. All I could find was articles about ninth graders. Hopefully he just misunderstood something he was told although unfortunately I just perpetuated a rumor.

I’m sorry. This wasn’t directed at you at all. I was just shocked when I read the comment about a high school closing, and was reminding all not to believe everything you read online.
