This week, I didn't want to make chulent, but still wanted something hot shabbos day. DD is off 'fats'. So I googled recipes for 'apple crisp" in the crock pot and found quite a few. Then I googled "fat free crumble". Found a few recipes there too. So I combined the 2 and got a delicious, healthy(ish) dessert.
It was a basic flour, oats, brown sugar and cinnamon mix. Insteadof oil or margarine I used honey. I put it apples (granny smiths-our favorite) in a chulent bag, added some apple juice to make sure there was some liquid, and topped it with the crumble. Cooked for 3 hours, then kept on warm until we ate it for dessert.
Yummy and guilt free!
Also would be great with parve ice cream (though thats not fat free )
