What are the reasons for putting someome into Cherim
if a man refuses a get and it is published in the jewish press etc.
is he in cherim?
are their other reasons to put a man into cherim these days ?
besides refusing to give a get to a women?
does it matter if you are sephardic or ashkenazic ?

I also knew someone that was put in cherem. He started a very open confrontation with a rabbi in his community and would not stop, back down or apologize. It apparently was very disruptive to the community he lived in and went on for a significant period of time. It was controversial because his sweet wife and family were made to suffer. The rabbonim that put him in herem did it very reluctantly.

see this is part of the reason I don't like the ignore feature.

even when Rabbis have the halachik validity to use such a thing, they only do so in extreme circumstances and with reluctance.

shouldn't we learn something from that?

are some of them really in cherem? I know someone related to a very 'prominent' member of neturai kartah. would that person be in cherem? if so-does that mean he cant be invited to their simchas etc?
