Andrea, glad you are joining us. Do you have a fitbit? It's great for motivating me to move and keeps me accountable.

So this thread is for non low carb dieters only? I still have 120 pounds to lose.

Please do stay. I find your posts very inspirational.

I haven't yet posted anything here because at the moment my diet is too unhealthy.
I'm trying to get ideas from this thread and hopefully will join soon.

I do actually. Ironically what my Fitbit did for me was really validated how exhausted I was from insomnia and made me seek help.

I know I should exercise. Especially because desk job now.

Hang in there. The only actual way to fail is to stop trying. I know. I gave up for YEARS.

breakfast - apple, 2 rice cakes, plain yogurt
lunch- Moroccan vegetables with chickpeas and couscous
snack- 1/2 banana and sour cream

also a few small pancakes from kids' supper - I don't feel bad about it because it was ww, no sugar and high protein (eggs, milk, cottage cheese)

supper -Moroccan vegetables with chickpeas (no couscous), shnitzel
later- 1 cup coffee and a piece of cake.

I packed up the rest of the cake for kids' snack , so no more cake in the house. I've been eating only 1 piece a day but I shouldn't.

2.5 liters water
not enough sleep

Yesterday:
Breakfast: bannana, yogurt, coffee

Lunch: big salad with sweet potatoes and lentils

snack: 2 coffees, bowl of cereal and milk, apple

Supper: chicken, farfal and peas and then there was just a little bit of chicken and farfel left in the pot so I ate it which I shouldn't have.

Before bed I had a handfull of nuts. I'm not sure what I feel about that. I could have gone without but it was just one handful not the whole bag...

Water: two and a half liters.
And I had an hour of basket ball practice.

Today is gonna be hard cause I'm working from home. In my kitchen. All Day...

Re: Soy shnitzel. Which one do you use? I happen to like from Tival . Its worth the calories.

Ate split peas soup in the morning at work some 18 oz. Then diet soup with shreded grilled chicken bottom. Then out with friend and bought a coffee with no sugar but.... 2 small fresh cinamon rugelech...husband got inspired and decided to Cook. Nice but because it was chicken and whole rice I ate whole rice for 4 people. Its the distracrion on being healthy that made me forget of carbs. The split peas and string beans were also wrong for the soup - carbs

Then oy vey cheated on parve ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!! Need lose 30 LB minimum! My doc is NOT happy.

I knew I was gonna botch up in the end. When there's company AND it's at night, my self-control is almost zero. I ate an apple first to make me feel full and not get tempted by the cookies and chocolates that everyone else was eating. But then I succumbed and had some chocolates, one cookie, some soda... I didn't go all out letting my cheating go out of hand, but it was still more than I should have.

IyH today will be the same like yesterday, minus the late night munching.

After my happy post at eight-something last night, I ate something last night Sad

Was frustrated by two kids who kept waking up, and I told myself-don't do it!!! You'll regret it!!! But then I went and ate a little piece of babka. Probably 200 cal. Not worth it unless you can eat the whole thing. Wink

So I felt bad. I

But today is a new day!!! Smile
Weighed myself this morning, and bh am already losing weight!B

So far I'm on track today.

Let's go, ladies! We can do it!

If anyone here shops at Trader Joes the unsweetened instant oatmeal packets are my new fav item. I love that I can control the sugar content but with the convenience of just adding hot water.

I did skip lunch and had a nice dinner of mushroom/jerusalem artichoke soup with a bit more of my protein bread with olive oil.
My workout was a bit on the short side today though. Tomorrow will be better on that front.

I was told skipping a meal doesn't really help (you get hungry). Try smaller meals every 3-4 hours. Best of luck!!!

Today I am celebrating being active for my goal of at least 30 mins. I know its lame but it's something. Still struggling with the water, I ended up chugging my iced coffee after my workout to cool me down.
Breakfast - ate some of kid's leftover eggs.. and the yogurt that wasnt finished (high sugar..I know.)
snack - handful of almonds
lunch - huge bowl of b-squash soup
dinner - mashed potatoes, brocoli slaw, and minute steaks.
snack - apple.
I should probably eat more throughout day but I tend to save up my eating for dinner/night time. I hate that I weigh myself everyday cause it's discouraging. I have been at this for 2 weeks and maybe I have lost a pound of two. It is QUITE a change in my eating and activity so I am not sure why I am not seeing more results.

Breakfast life cereal and milk
Snack two small apples
Lunch salmon, tartar sauce, broccoli, butternut squash
Dinner baked shnitzel, 2 c lentil veg soup
About 12 c water
10 min dancing

I use the myfitnesspal free app on my phone, and I really find that it helps me control what I'm eating- every time you input a good type and amount, it deducts out from your calorie limit, and when you exercise, it gives you calories back.
Obviously, it's not perfectly accurate, but it's much more effective than me just eating without marking down, recording, calculating.

Hatzlacha to all! I hope we can all keep at it!
