How did you get started?
How do you write with the very strict guidelines the magazines have and still keep it interesting?

I always knew I wanted to write and I was determined to get there. I started by writing and submitting (apprehensively, at first, I must admit) and waited until my work was accepted. I read a lot about writing, spoke to writers whenever I could and kept going until I got there.
Regarding guidelines - different mags. have different rules. There are so many topics that concern people that are so interesting to explore. There were a few times that I got frustrated by specific censorship, but in general I really respect the editors and their carefully though out guidelines.

Ahhh! The truth? Lots of stories are made up but MANY, many stories are true and most are based on true facts.

Both. I use my real name on many pieces and when the magazine specifically requests. I also have columns and serials that always have my name. I use a variety of pseudonyms for various reasons, different ones for different magazines. I've published books under my pseudonym (serials that I had written previously) and under my real name.
As I get older and own my opinions more, I'm starting to use my real name more and more.
