my 8 year old son recently had a surgery. The dr thought he'd be cleared to do anything by the time mid-winter vacation came, and we were planning on going snowtubing and maybe skiing. something came up, and he is not clear to do anything even somewhat strenuous. he loves ice skating, ropes course, skyzone, amusement parks, etc. but those are all out. im looking for an activity/activities to do with a very active boy, who loves action. I live in lakewood but id travel about 2 hours to do something fun. if anyone knows of anything, please lmk!!
(it would have to accommodate younger children also, but its ok if its at least for a 4 yo and up)
thanks a lot!

LEGO land
Crayola factory
Would he be interested in pottery painting. My boys are very active but they can really get into a pottery session.

Probably not safe after surgery if he's been told to take it easy.

Are there open stitches? If not, swimming is a great activity to aid gentle recovery.

Game arcades like Chucky Cheese can be lots of fun.

Horse back riding can be gentle and therapeutic.

Why not ask your doctor for suggestions?

He should have a refuah sheliemah, and be back on his feet in no time. Heart

I found that this week my 8 year old really enjoyed real art (he went to a painting class) and woodworking.

Liberty science center is great for a lot of ages. They also have a Sherlock Homes/ escape the room exhibit right now and a planetarium for extra fees but with one of those it can really be an entire days activity.
