I love the one in the spice and spirit but I'd rather use a recipe that calls 4 oil (I'm not so comfortable with substituting in baking).
Im looking 4 a versatile whit cake, that u can use as a base for all sorts of cakes (marble, fruit, choco chips etc,)
simple, no machine is best.
and yes I do use duncan neinz but I'd rather not spend the money, and I only like their brownies.
thanks in advance!

Yellow Cake from the Kosher Palette
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup veg. oil
1 cup orange juice (I would sub. milk or soy milk)
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 large eggs
Combine dry ingredients and stir, add oil, OJ, vanilla and eggs.
Pour into a 9x13 and bake at 325 for 50 minutes.
The recipe says to use an electric mixer but it sounds doable by hand. Enjoy!

Yup! I don't think I've ever tried it with chocolate chips or anything in it, but as a plain cake it was great.

I just used it to make a cake for a 100th birthday party.
it went over well-or so I am told. gotta try it for my family next.
I actually think this the recipe my friend used when she baked and sold 'confetti' cake.

I found this on allrecipes.com and it's now dh's favorite cake. I have made it with apple juice or half apple half orange and all are yummy! I usually add choc chips, but since the batter is thin and frothy they sink, but it's like a nice spongey cake with a choc crust. This week I did a mix of white and whole wheat and it was denser, but still very moist and yummy! b'tayavon!
btw, I always sub oil for marg with no probs. Once I used applesauce in a kugel, but dh said it tasted too healthy!
