Aha. Wow. Hope he’s doing well now. We are going to follow up and see if we can get to the bottom of it. Just wondering because child is acting totally fine and no other symptoms that indicate a virus or something....
Beh all will be good... I’m not going to freak myself out for all possibilities...

I mean not virus symptoms but weakness, colds often because of lowered immunity & low counts?

Then he's totally fine. If he is energetic & acting himself he is most probably healthy & ok

Back when this started, turned out he had a virus with a cold and was congested for a few weeks- but this was before pesach. Got better & then had an infection and been fine since but keeps on having these fluctuations now.

The viruses & infections keep coming because of the lowered immunity because he has low counts.
You can give him beef broth & pomegranates to bring up his counts & strengthen him

Have you had a chest xray done? Mono spot test? Really your doctor would be the best person to discuss this with, but those are places people often look.

Yes to chest X-ray. No to viral panel. I guess we’ll do that this week.
Exactly. Have been in constant contact with Dr. I want to just hear from other people’s experiences- thats why I posted...

Thanks. Will try. We’ll see if he’ll drink it.

The pom seeds actually worked better than juice. The juice is bitter so if you can freeze as ices or mix with other sweet juice like grape juice

How old is your toddler? If he's near 2, he could be getting his molars in. That can account for the fluctuating temp, crankiness, and diarrhea. See if he'll let you put a finger in the back of his gums and press down. If he complains of pain, or you feel little points coming in, then you'll have a better idea of what's going on.

If that's the case, give him frozen green beans to gnaw on. DD loved that when she was teething, and she never choked on anything. Even better, it got her to eat vegetables. Wink

Do watch his behavior closely. The second he seems lethargic or less responsive than usual, rush him to the ER. Do not wait for the doctor to call you back! It may be nothing, but better safe than sorry.

I'll be davening that it's just some mysterious growth spurt, and IYH everything will be fine.

I have a child who is frequently sick from low immunity but bh child is growing so I also am trying not to worry. We have done the rounds of specialists esp s due to this child medical history and for now we're taking a wait and see approach.

I’ve had years ago when my baby kept having low grade fever and colds was acting fine. The Drs upstate kept saying it’s teething. After constantly going back and forth to dr and nothing changing, something didn’t sit right with me as I recalled hearing that even though child doesn’t gave high fever, prolonged low grade fever can be something more serious. I went into the city to my regular pediatrician after this going on for close to two months of back and forth to drs and them telling me “oh it’s just teething” and so on. We finally got results that he had a UTI infection. B”h after that his colds and fever cleared up with antibiotic treatment.

Check the usual culprits and then some. Fever of unknown origin should be a diagnosis of exclusion. Request blood work including CBC, metabollic panel, Thyroid, Strep levels, Cytomegalovirus, and Epstein Barr. Certain Rheumatological diseases can cause on and off fever so get ANA, RF, and Lyme checked too. Urine and chest xray like someone mentioned. Make sure he's not dehydrated due to hot weather, causing low grade fever. If all is negative and Dr is out of ideas, see a specialist, and if they don't find anything, call it a day (unless other symptoms occur).
