Amother seashell, camp Tubby is probably one of the oldest frum camps around. I never thought of the name as funny.

Actually legend has it that Camp Tubbys name originated with a non Jewish camp that was for heavy people and when the camp was purchased by the frum owners they decided to keep the original name. It is one of the oldest frum girls camps today.

I went there for many years. It’s called camp Tichon Bais Yaakov, or TBY for short. That became Tubby.
