Hi all. FTM here. Wondering what kosher Stage 1 (supported sitter) baby foods are there that would be available in a standard grocery store or Target/Walmart? I know the Gerber baby cereals are, but it doesn't look like the rest of their Stage 1 foods have a hechsher.

ETA he is 5 months. Starting solids early due to severe reflux. 2 months into a 3 month wait for specialist appointment. Following pediatrician's guidance. We won't be doing baby led weaning right now.

Is it all their products (can I order them online) or just certain runs/flavors?

Hmm so it looks like it's only stage 2 foods that are kosher from beech but and pears are the only Parents Choice stage 1 food. Any others?

Not sure where you're looking, but on my Walmart grocery app almost every flavor has an O-U

There are many gerber baby food jars with an ou. (They’re a rectangle shape). But there are also flavors without an ou. I spoke to the ou and they said only the ones with ou are kosher. I get them at Walmart and target and check carefully each time.

I used baby jars with my oldest and a little bit with my second but only rarely with my third. Did you ever look into baby led weaning?

I only used pre made baby food when out. At home you can serve babies food you cook yourself. Banana, avocado, sweet potatoes, (microwaved in skin) chicken soup (take some out before adding salt and spices) . My oldest actually rejected the puree food very shortly and wanted more texture.

So for some reason I stopped getting notifications for this thread.

We aren't doing baby led weaning because we are trying to get baby going on solids early due to major reflux issues. Those same issues mean there is no time for making my own baby foods.

As far as I can see online on the stores' sites and from my husband looking in store all the suggestions have kosher food at stage 2 but none or only a fruit (which we were told to stay away from for now) at stage 1. We are looking at starting with a stage 2 single ingredient vegetable and thinning where necessary with formula.

We prefer that over ordering from Amazon - they take forever to ship if you are not a Prime member.

Make a soup with cubed vegetables. Try giving the soft cubes on your baby’s tray. Drain out most of the broth and blend the rest. You could add baby cereal to thicken it.
These are my first foods. It takes a couple minutes to prepare and lasts a few days.
Plain Cheerios and rice cakes are good too.
Peeled cucumber,

He is 5 months. No teeth. We are starting him early on solids due to severe reflux. Currently on the most hypoallergenic formula you can get without a prescription. I'm still not getting even 5 hrs of sleep most days so even an extra half hour a week of stuff to do is like torture right now.

I posted this above, so I'm sorry for the repetition. Almost every vegetable of the Parents Choice brand (Walmart), even in Stage 1 has a hechsher. Not sure if there's one near you, but if yes, it's definitely worth a trip

Microwave sweet potatots then blend with water, do the same with frozen peas and frozen mixed veggies. You can store in ice cube trays. There is no need for a fancy baby bullet, any cheap blender will do. It dosn't take long, maybe 5 min each night and these things are avaliable anywhere! (We have always live OOT)

The only stage 1 parents choice food on their site is pears. My husband said they have no stage 1 foods in store kosher or not.

Are you located in the US?

Also, are you looking to order online or you're going into a store? My local Walmart has at least 10 varieties that are kosher, and I also see them available on my Walmart grocery app.
I guess this may not be the case if you're just ordering from the Walmart website, but sounds strange...

Yes, small city in WA... might just be where we live. We have looked both locally and online.
