day camp ends pretty early heer and with it being light out until really late I have so many empty hours that I need to keep my kids busy. not many neighbors here so they aren't playing with other kids. I need fun ideas how to give them full afternoons so they feel they had a full energy-using day. looking for any fun ideas that kids under 8 will enjoy.

Lots of outdoor play: running, climbing, riding, water play, ball etc.

Park
Bikes, scooters
Pool. Sprinklers.
Jumping in the rain
Taking the city bus around town, maybe with a stop at Target etc.
Picnics, BBQs.

The only issue is that these activities tire me out as well. So we do them approximately 2-3 times a week and the rest of the time is simply playing in the street, maybe with chalk or bubbles or play dough.

There is no foolproof method for a kid resistant to bedtime. In fact, one of my DCs gets more hyper with more outdoor time and activities. That said, the suggestions on here work with most kids.

Interesting, my kids come home from camp pretty wiped out. We mostly keep things low key in the air conditioning.
