DS 1st B-day coming up. I will bake a cake (probably Duncan Hines). I need an easy frosting recipe to go with it that will be appreciated by adults and children alike. Thank you.

Confectioners sugar with a tiny bit of water so its not too runny (you can add more if its too thick, but add a drop at a time). You can add food coloring for fun. then put sprinkles, sugar crystals, candy.

I find if you use lemon juice or orange juice instead of water it gives the icing a tangy tste and is really good.

once ur buying the duncan hines cake, buy some of their frosting too, or manoshevitz makes one that is really good.
