Hi! I am planning a trip to Montreal later this summer and I would like some tips from the locals (or someone who has traveled there recently).
Since I have never been, I am not quite sure where to begin. So I would like to know the following:
-where is a good place to stay that is in or close to a Jewish community. Preferably one that has good restaurants/bakeries and is near shuls
- nice activities within an hour drive that are suitable for children ages 3-7
-are there any nice nature activities to do (I.e. nature trails, rivers, boating, etc.) that are worth while?
-any other recommendations for someone coming from NYC?
Also, I’ve been told that many locals travel north during the summer, so is Montreal in general a good summer destination?

Montreal is flooded with tourists in the summer!
Lodging:If you want to stay near shuls & kosher food, you can choose Outremont, Westbury or Cote St Luc.
Touring:
In Montreal: Old Montreal, The Old Port (Ferris wheel, Quadricycles, Science Center, Imax, Zipline, Climbing, SOS Maze), The Olympic Stadium, the Planetarium, Bike riding along the Lachine canal, Mont Royal park (hike to the top for an amazing view!) & Beaver Lake, Nathan Shuster playground, the Insectarium and much more!
Near Montreal:Granby Zoo, Parc Safari, Mont Tremblant, Ottawa....
