When I leave my stove or oven on for a while (on Friday usually), I've lately started to smell gas. I turn off the oven, the smell leaves, I turn it back on, no smell.
Should I call the gas company or is this normal?

It might be a problem with your igniter. If you turn on the oven and it doesn't lite then you might get the gas smell. It's simple to fix by an appliance repair guy.
Maybe check if your oven turned on when you smell the gas.

It can definitely be a leak and you should call the gas company to have it checked out.

You should also definitely have a carbon monoxide detector if you have a gas stove. Huge piece of mind.

Dont call the gas company, if there is a leak they will just shut the gas and not fix it.
Call a repairman to fix the problem. Maybe dont use the oven till then.

prob a faulty igniter. call an appliance repair guy
if u want to know for sure, turn on your broil and see if it works properly and if you smell gas. there are separate igniters for bake and broil. if u only smell the gas during bake - it's your igniter failing
