Tiny Poppy Seed Cookies

Tiny Poppy Seed Cookies
from the Washington Posts's challah-days cookie section

2 sticks marg, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg, checked for blood spots & beaten
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
pinch salt
1/4 cup poppy seeds
2 T lemon zest (peel) grated

You mix your marg and sugar and then add your egg and the rest of the ingredients. Divide into 3 parts and let chill in the fridge for at least an hour.

Bake at middle rack at 400 deg for about 7-10 minutes or until cookies are brown.

Makes 72 cookies.

I served a scoop of Pink STuff with a cooky askew in the cup. next time, a drizzle of raspbery sce !!!!

thank u for this recipe cm. I made them and stuck them in the freezer and have been enjoying a couple a day.

next, I gotta try it w/ the pink stuff...............
