I have children for conversation pieces
You know sitting around comparing labor/ delivery , how horrible or stupendous the pediatrician/ teacher/obgyn/school/simcha hall/rebbi/ camp/mechutanim are. I mean how else would I occupy myself?

I had them so I would have someone to teach about tampons. Just lucky I guess that they were girls..

I had them because I love the pom pom hats but they look silly on me.
Also my mother always said that when I'm the mother, I'll get to be in charge. So I needed to get my chance.

I think most people missed the fact that the OP of the thread that triggered this, said that her kids are now at home with a babysitter. She's out at work anyway, so of course she prefers that they're being cared for elsewhere rather than making a mess while she's out. Either way she's not able to spend this time with them.

(I really had them so when my husband came home and said, "Who ate the entire box of 12 donuts?" I was able to point to kids who may have eaten them. I couldn't answer of course, with a mouthful of donuts... But who would I blame if there were no kids? Honestly! I thought that was obvious. There is no other reason to go through the hassle..)
