Anyone have any ideas to share?
We use candy fish for fish heads.
My children very happy help Erev Yom Tov, and cut off the heads for me, eating the rest of the bodies in the old year. (Wouldn't want to have Baal Taschit).
We use lox for the fish and lamb chops lezecher Akedas Yitzchak.
Raisins in celery for a raise in salary
And Life cereal, for a good life.
Any other fun/good ideas you want to share?

It's like a themed Shalach Manos!
On Rosh Hashana, we like to eat
Honey Cake for a year that's sweet. (honey cake)
To ease that tension you can cut with a knife
We use cereal to ask that we be judged for LIFE. (LIFE cereal)
Meaningful and low in calories,
We ask Hashem for a Raise-in Salaries. (celery and raisins)
With the warmth of the seudos, we hope it won't melt
We ask Hashem to grant us a lot of Gelt. (chocolate gelt)
At the head of the year, we beg and we wail
"Make us be the Head and not the tail!" (jelly fish heads)
We hope that nachas for us is in stock,
We ask that our kids be "chips off the old block." (caramel chips, potato chips)
We ask that peace on us be bestowed,
We hope that our enemies "POP" and explode! (popcorn, lollipops)
Wishing you a Happy Purim... I mean a Shana Tova!

So we make up our own minhagim these days?
Oh well, guess minhagim had to originate somewhere, may as well be here.

Who said anything about making up new minhagim? These simanim are all plays on words. The silly ones lead to discussion with my kids at the table. Its a good thing.

For...????
I’m very traditional with the simanim, but sounds like it’s a lot of fun at some of your homes. Might have to start some new traditions here.

Fish (Kedem brand cookies include fish) and sheep heads (we're lenient about the exact type of animal).
