I'm 33 and I wouldn't like any of those things on the list.

What does your cousin like? What does she need? What does she want? Does she have a hobby?

I think a gift certificate - and preferably one that can be used anywhere. I would rather than receive "stuff" that I don't really need or want. I know it's the thought that counts but I would prefer to have the ability to pick out something. Maybe it's because I have spent many months getting rid of bunches of stuff I acquired over the years and just "kept".

Squishy - I think chocolate really depends on the person. I love chocolate - maybe too much - so I would not want to receive it as a personal gift because I am helpless around a box of good chocolate. If it was a gift when I was entertaining and so could be eaten by others and spare me the calories it would be different.

Depends if the cousin has a family of her own or not. If she has her own children, it's not as big of a deal, because she has to take care of her own children anyway, its not like she's giving up an entire afternoon- she's just sharing her energy and time with another child (definitely something to appreciate, but not as big a deal) . If she doesn't, she gave up an entire afternoon, watched the child for a few hours and did bedtime (usually not the easiest task). This would have been around $10-12/hour if a stranger would have done it.
