Does a shabbos coat have to match the shabbos outfit. My daughter has a navy coat (it is from a few yrs ago but in excellent condition) but she wants a new one because it doesn't match her shabbos clothing and she wants a black one.

A coat never has to match an outfit. Unless it totally clashes with the skirt it’s not a problem. And I can’t see how navy will clash with anything.

It doesn't need to match!!
But maybe she's tired of the coat or feels it isn't fashionable anymore and wants a new one.
