He doesn’t read at all...
Anyone have any recommendations that might be exciting enough for him?
He read Harry Potter already...

If he liked Harry Potter he might like the Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage-- the first book is called Magyk. A couple other great non-Jewish books are The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin and A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle (first in a series). Some Jewish books he might enjoy are That's Me Tzviki Green by Chaim Walder, or the Lost Children of Tarshish by Ehud Tokatly (2 part series) They have lots of action-- Tzviki Green has great action but a lot of emotional depth as well, all my kids loved it, boys and girls of all personality types Smile

The truth is Tzviki Green is a novel, but my kids are all huge fans of all the Chaim Walder Kidspeak books, as well as his other similar books (Real Heros? Real Kids? I forget the names.) And they are pretty picky readers. And then when they get a little older they devour the PeopleSpeak books as well.

Just saw your last post-- the Kidspeak books might be good for him with ADHD because they are short stories.

Yes, but he can handle Harry Potter. So he might be ready for someone like Chaim Eliav.

I like Mysterious Benedict Society (series of I think 5 books.)

Gordon Korman has some very dramatic adventure books/series but you'd want to check each separately for appropriateness. If you were fine with Harry Potter then you're fine with all his recent kids' books that I know of. Masterminds series, Hypnotist series. A little longer ago Kidnapped/On the Run series. Very high action, clean language, and minimal if any romance. Bad guys very nasty, would probably give my kids nightmares but that's why my kids are not reading Harry Potter yet (younger than yours.)

Try the lightning catcher series. It's a harry potter knockoff and very clean.

I think wayside is younger, my kids read them at 8/9.

A series of unfortunate events is great!
Also chronicles of narnia
