I was actually brought up in a family that wears fronts,

I decided that I looked way better in a shpitzel so I changed, wasnt for frummy reasons,

Well, when I travel beyond the confines of where I live I def do get stared at plenty. Sometimes stared down too. But, its been many years and at this point I have matured and realized that its not my problem and it doesn't faze me much. To be fair, if it isn't something you usually see its def attention-grabbing so I can understand. And its ok. (And I wouldnt start a thread about how rude pple are. I get that for the most part they dont intend to be. )
Where I live, there’s so many ‘shpitzel wearers’ by now so I'm amongst company.

Not worth it. They have gone up in price and it costs more now than what I paid many years ago. Besides, the vintage designs are irreplaceable.

A Front has some hair from a wig sticking out, but just the front/forehead area/ while the back of the head is covered completely with a scarf or hat.
